Arkonoid DS Replete With OldSkool Trackball

Readers as ancient as me might remember Arkanoid as a killer coin-op from back in the day, with its cool trackball controller. The slightly less ancient among you have doubtless encountered the move left and right and smash all of the little blocks with a shiny ball thing fun in one form or another.

Well now in what seems to be part of an ongoing DS retro revival, you can can get your Arkanoid on with the DS. But not, as you'd expect with touchscreen magic. Instead the game packs a trackball peripheral, so you can truly kick it like its 1981.

Siliconera got their hands on the little beast, and here's what they had to say:
"The plug in controller was the highlight of the experience. If you're planning to buy this make sure to get the bundle package with the paddle. It's a sturdy piece of equipment with a metal dial and it does a great job replicating the classic feel of Arkanoid."
In addition to your regular Arkanoid game there is also a "quest mode" - developers usually feel the need to tag something on to oldskool games to justify re-releasing them, but there you go.
