Conduit Footage Looks better and better

In addition, IGN.com recently posted an interview with High Voltage's Eric Nofsinger. Here's some highlights:
IGN: How would you say the game has progressed since we last wrote about it?
Eric: The single-player portion of the game is near the point of being just bug fixes and Fine Tuning. And polish, polish, polish. A lot of our team and development effort is moving to multiplayer now.
That sounds terrific. And you can really see some of that polish in the screen shots and videos being posted.
Another excerpt:
Eric: All of it. [laughs] Seriously, we wouldn't be showing this stuff off if we weren't planning on using it and using it a lot. Some really fantastic graphical improvements came on line recently. Our artists and engineers are so amazing! I just wanted to give them all a big hug.
More awesomeness. Though one worries that this will be a sort of Red Steel and dissapoint, some analysis reveals that this is unlikely. Red Steel had to be a launch title. There was a deadline. The Conduit doesn't have a publisher, hence no deadline. That might seem bad, but at this point it seems very clear that High Voltage can get a publisher when and if they want one. They have self funded this game, and have everything but multiplayer done.
What I especially like is that a company is really trying hard to make new action IP on the Wii. It's also smart business. The FPS genre is very well suited to Wii's controls yet we have precious few games that really make an effort in this area. There's a market hole, and a big one, and the Illinois based developer is pulling out all the stops to fill it.
This is looking like a must buy when it comes out, folks.
