Diddy Kong Racing DS – Alive and Well
The latest issue of Nintendo Power brings a few nice surprises for Nintendo DS kart racing fans. Apparently the DS sequel to the original Nintendo 64 title Diddy Kong Racing is still in the works. Rare, the company that developed the first game, was bought by Microsoft several years ago and it left the future of the DKR series a mystery. Rare announced they were working on porting the N64 game to the DS at E3 2006, though no further information was ever released until recently.
Here are the facts to far:
- Single cart multiplayer with all courses available
- Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection confirmed
- Dixie and Tiny Kong to replace the Rare-owned banjo and Conker
- No more bananas
- Silver Coin challenges have been nixed
