Nintendo DS

DK: Jungle Climber is the latest in the donkey kong game franchise to hit the DS, and will hit the shelves on September 9th. So far the feedback on the game has been very positive, and much has been made of the DS control system that makes this a great improvement on the Donkey Kong: King of Swing title (GBA) it is ostensibly based on. DK: JC is so simple to use, just about anyone will get the hang of it in seconds.

Craig Harris put the game through its paces over at IGN and the results were good:
"What was a very good Game Boy Advance title turns out to be an even better Nintendo DS game. The development team stuck to its guns with the original concept and fleshed it out with new levels, new elements, and more stuff to beef up the variety and to toughen things up. The lack of variety is what hurt King of Swing in the long run, and while Jungle Climber shares the same core mechanic that makes the game just a tad repetitive, the designers injected some great ideas into the original to bulk up the fun."

This game is fun, but it can be very very difficult for newcomers. One level will be fairly easy; the next might be extremely difficult or tedious, taking hours. For the experienced gamer, this is probably a good, fun, new addition to the Donkey Kong series. For the new gamer, a lot of strategy will be required. This game is in dire need of a full Walkthrough or Game Guide somewhere online, and none can be found. The location of the DK coins and Oil Barrels alone (those open up more abilities and levels) would be appreciated! A good game, but be prepared for some frustration when things suddenly get way too difficult. Skill levels would be nice, but this is one skill level fits all.
