Do you still play the GBA?

Once the undisputed king of the portable video game market, the Game Boy is practically invisible now, shadowed by the much trendier DS. When the DS first launched Nintendo played it safe and stated that the DS was not a continuation of the Game Boy line it would support the GBA alongside the new system. The DS turned out to be a huge success and the Game Boy Advance has faded far into the background. So far, in fact, that almost every game for 6 months before and after today isn't much more than a movie cash-in or kid's game. Has the Game Boy reached the end of its lifecycle?

Here's my question to you: do you still play Game Boy Advance games? Have you bought any in the last… year? Six months? Do you think Nintendo has another Game Boy model in the works or is the DS the new GBA? Fire off in the comments and lets hear what you think!

Unfortunately, the Game Boy has been dead to me. The last game I bought was Drill Dozer almost a year ago, and the forecast doesn’t look too promising. The Final Fantasy Advance games are nothing but ports, and the only GBA title I was really looking forward to, Pirate Battle, has been officially moved to the DS. It’s sad, but I think the Game Boy is done for. Once movie cash-ins and kiddie titles fail to bring in money (the system is less breakable in the hands of a child), it’ll be left for dead. A sad ending…

I still play GBA games from time to time — particularly Puzzle Fighter — but I only do so on my DS Lite. I haven’t purchased a GBA game for ages, so yes, I think the GB/GBA is dead.
