Homebrew DS application teaches Japanese
Filed in archive Nintendo DS on March 31, 2007
Finally, anglophones have a chance to brush up on their Japanese skills with their DS! A homebrew coder known as Zoelen has just released Project JDS, a hiragana and katakana learning and training program. Use the touch screen to teach yourself to write the characters and recognize them by sight. Project JDS even pronounces the characters for you so you don't sound like an ignorant tourist. Great news for lovers of languages, though you'll have to be something of a homebrew flash-cart ninja to use the program on your own DS.
