IGN turns their Magic 8 Ball upside-down and gives it a few good shakes for our two favorite gaming consoles, the Wii and Nintendo DS. Questions such as "Oh Magic 8 Ball, will the Wii be released in new colors in 2007?" were asked, and such profound responses as "All signs point to yet" were given. Wii

• The Wii will be released in new colours
  


• Metroid 3 will arrive late in the year, possibly in the 3rd quarter
  


• There will be some new wireless attachments released
  


• Exercise games will take off, much like brain training games have on the DS
  


• Some old Nintendo franchises will be brought back to life (Kid Icarus?)
  


• Pikmin Wii will be announced
  


• New and original games will be available for download on the VC
  


• 3rd parties will embrace and modify the Mii function
  


• The Wii will dominate the Japanese market
  


• Nintendo becomes a strong number two in the market

DS

• The Wii-DS connectivity will be introduced
  


• Single-cart multi player will continue to grow
  


• The Opera Browser will be released in the US
  


• New colours for the console will be announced
  


• Bigger game carts will be introduced, leading to bigger, prettier games
  


• The Game-Eye will be released for this console
  


• A media player will be announced and released
  


• There will be no drastic changes to online gaming
  


• The Gameboy will finally be put to rest as a result of the DS's success
  


• Hints at the next-gen DS

A lot of these are no-brainers, but some seem a bit too hopeful. Either way, I hope the Magic 8 Ball rings true.
