Knight of Nintendo: Defending the Big N

How many of you are in the Wii Defense Force?
You know what I mean.
You like what Nintendo is doing. You enjoy the Wii. No, you aren't blind to the other systems. Heck, you probably play them on a regular basis. You wouldn't even want to own JUST a Nintendo system. You're a gamer, after all.
But, like I said, you like what Nintendo is doing with Wii and DS.
So, you have to defend against the following arguments, some with merit, others ridiculous:
"Lolz the minigames."
The argument has merit, but fails to look at the big picture. Certainly Metroid, Zelda, Mario Galaxy, RE4, Sonic and the Secret Rings, Zak and Wiki fail to qualify as "mini games." Besides, good mini-game collections are, well, good! Mario and Sonic, Wii Sports, and Carnival Games are fun to play- and that's what gaming is all about. Fun.
"Nintendo is teh kiddy
."The more you look at this, the more it fails to have merit, because what is important in considering what is "kiddy" has to be what is considered "not kiddy." And on the internets, that usually means games with blood, foul language, etc. Does that stuff really mean "adult?" Not to me.
"Third parties can't succeed on Wii."
Again, has some merit, but when you look at all the evidence, it doesn't have as much weight as you think. Yes, Zak and Wiki is an embarrassment, but Guitar Hero III sells through the roof.
If you want to see some of the most heated debates on Wii, I would point you towards the videogamecritic.net's message boards. They can get quite nasty!
