Madden Headed to Wii
Filed in archive Revolution on April 27, 2006
As I'm sure you can imagine, the next generation of Madden games will be much different on the Wii than on the PS3 or Xbox 360. Electronic Arts has announced that they will be building a brand new Madden game from the ground up for Nintendo's upcoming console, now officially titled the "Wii."
A new team at EA Canada has been formed to work specifically on Wii titles, and the next Madden game will undoubtedly be their most important, as Madden is one of the best-selling games every year.
John Schappert, EA's senior vice president, recently chatted with Gamasutra about the Wii's capabilities and how they were going to make Madden work for it. Good news for Nintendo gamers is that they don't want to port games to the Revolution, but develop entirely different versions. As he puts it, "The approach we took is, okay, we're making Madden for Revolution. Forget what the control scheme was before, what should it be?"
