Mario Strikers Charged to be online

More good news for Europe: Mario Strikers Charged, the Wii incarnation of the new Mario-themed soccer franchise, will feature online play. Players can initiate matches across the world with a number of multiplayer modes. There will also be a competitive ranking system players can participate in to see who the best "futbol" player is.

And here I thought Pokemon would be the first online Wii game. Looks like Nintendo is pushing up the schedule a bit, which is fantastic. Now if only Mario Strikers Charged will be dated for North America...
