More Rumors from 1-Up, including exciting predictions
Our friends at Gonintendo are reporting that Jeremy parish of 1-Up.com has made a bunch o' predictions. Apparently this is one game journalist who has a high success rate in his predictions, probably because he makes them when, you know, he's got solid information.
Included in his forecasting were three huge megatons:
1. He predicts a new Zelda announced at the end of the year. This is based on the Zelda team being back together, as I noted in the previous post. However, this seems to be the weakest prediction because Miyamoto merely said the team was working on new games. We'll see however: I'd love for this one to be true!
2. Punch Out! will be announced for the Wii at E3 this year. This is based on a Miyamoto "wink wink" reaction when Jeremy asked why Don King's Prize Fighter was the first boxing game to support the Wii balance board. Miyamoto then gave a telling "can't talk about it until E3" answer. Hmm. This seems likely.
3. Pikmin is comin' out…. but nobody knows for what system. This is based on Miyamoto telling Parish that "he doesn't know what to do with Pikmin." As far as predictive strength goes, I'd put this between the Zelda and Punch Out! rumors.
All in all, good news for Nintendo fans, but one has to wonder if Miyamoto has any genuinely new IP left in him, or if Pikmin was his last "actual game" IP.

I actually had a dream the other night where Kid Icarus Wii got announced
I really have some problems. Anyway, I hoping that Pikmin Wii really does work out! It just seems that, if it went to the DS, the screen might be a little too small to really convey the feeling of many Pikmin at a time, and it might be a little wonky to be accurate with picking them with the stylus. But I guess if anyone could do it…
