The promise of the N64 back-catalogue of games hasn't really been lived up to so far on the Wii, but finally another offering (bringing the options up to a less than breathtaking eight games) has hit the Virtual Console: Yoshi's Story.

For those with a less than sparkling memory, or - gasp - too young to remember the N64, Virtual Console Review fill you in on the details:

For those with a less than sparkling memory, or - gasp - too young to remember the N64, Virtual Console Review fill you in on the details:
"The evil baby bowser has cast a spell turning Yoshi's Island into a picture book. Worse yet, the Super Happy Tree has been stolen, making the island dark and gloomy. Players must take control of six Yoshis, each a different colour, and travel through six pages (worlds) of platforming adventure to recover the tree and return the island to normal. Featuring huge character models and bright, vibrant colors, the game's various environments (such as woods, caves, mountains and oceans) come alive in a uniquely gorgeous 2D/3D look. "While I personally can live without Mario's dino-chum, fans of the green and white beasty will want to check this one out, and if memory serves it was never a bad game, if not a mind blowing one. Hardcore Yoshi followers will be downloading away to get their hands on the elusive black and white Yoshi, perhaps.
