First, let me apologize for an unusual delay in HoN posts. Yes, I'm just starting the grueling Guildhall program (a game development school in Plano, TX) and it is really, really easy to have a few days slip by!

Anyway, this is a bit of exciting news. Rumor has it that Factor 5 (who developed the Star Wars Rogue Squadron games as well as Lair for the PS3) is working on a Kid Icarus game for Wii.

This is purely in the rumor department. But we know that there have been some hints that Nintendo is reviving a major franchise this year. And Factor 5 is one of their most effective 3rd party developers, with a reputation of squeezing every last drop from a system.

Interestingly, Factor 5 seems to have had a change of heart. Earlier, when working on PS3's Lair, they seemed dismissive of Wii, for all the usual reasons (lack of graphical power, blah blah blah).

However, Lair was a failure on PS3. Why? Critics and PS3 gamers did not like the motion controlled flying mechanics (the PS3 has limited motion "tilt" built in to the controllers).

Methinks Factor 5 realized that the kinds of games they want to make would be a better fit on Wii.

The question is, however, is that game going to be Kid Icarus?
