New US Virtual Console Games
Filed in archive Wii by John B on January 15, 2007
Three new games have been added to the North American Virtual Console roster this Monday morning. This week we have another helping of shooters, Xevious and R-Type III, along with a racing game for the TG-16 called Moto Roader. Again, nothing that demands your Wii Points, but at the very least I'm sure some people are excited about R-Type III.

New US Virtual Console Games

Xevious (NES, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points): A pretty standard vertically scrolling shooter that was one of the first games to feature two "layers" of attack: air and ground. Review from The Virtual Console Archive

R-Type III: The Third Lightning (Super NES, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points): A side-scrolling space shooter where you pilot a craft through strange environments blasting the enemy at every turn. R-Type was a graphical powerhouse in its day, showcasing the SNES system's Mode 7 capability to rotate and zoom sprites with relative ease. Review from The Virtual Console Archive

Moto Roader (TurboGrafx16, 1-5 players, 600 Wii Points): A simple racing game set in the future and supporting up to five players. Use cash you earn to upgrade your vehicle. Review from The Virtual Console Archive
