New Virtual Console Games (12-18)
Filed in archive Wii on December 19, 2006
Three shiny new Virtual console games have just been released, proving once and for all that even 20 year old games are still marginally exciting. No groundbreaking must-haves this week, but all three classic systems are represented by one game.
For the NES we have the aptly named Tennis on sale for 500 Wii Points. Think of it as the Wii Sports version without the motion sensitive controls or 3D graphics. Oh, and there's only about a dozen colors on the screen. But hey, it's a friggin classic, and Mario is the referee, so stop arguing and start downloading.

For the Sega Genesis comes Space Harrier II (800 points), an ambitious scrolling shooter that attempts a quasi-3D atmosphere years before its time. And the TurboGrafx16 gets Military Madness for 600 Wii Points. This futuristic turn-based strategy game tosses you on the moon with nothing more than your own brain to keep you alive. In other words, prepare to die.

I was glad to see another good TG-16 title this week, I've had 600 leftover points just sitting in my account waiting for something to come along.
