New Wii Channel Speculation

Nick Rathman of Helm Games takes a timid step out on a limb and speculates about the future releases of channels on the Nintendo Wii. Nick notices a slight trend with a monthly release of new channels since the system's launch, so it's only natural to speculate that next month we'll be able to add another shiny box to the menu of our Wii. Goody!!! But what will the new channel be? Here's what Nick thinks:

!!M channel: Quite a while ago, before the Wii launched, there was alot of talk, rumors if you will, about the Wii's built in Instant Messaging client, called !!M. Everyone seems to have forgotton about it, and there has been no word from Nintendo about it, so who knows? Maybe the next surprise channel we get will be instant messaging!

Media channel: This seems to be quite a popular one among online forums and the like when people are asked what channels they want. [....] ...you can watch movies and listen to music from your Wii...

DS Demo channel: Another popular one. In this channel, you would be able to use the Wii's wireless capabilities to send game demos to your DS. Who needs those DS download stations when you have your very own right at home!

Personally, I'm not too sure about the monthly channel theory, but I certainly wouldn't be opposed to the idea. Nintendo's channels have been fun if nothing else, and they're free, so why complain? I would love to see a DS Demo channel on the system or be able to try demos of regular Virtual Console games before buying them. Also, how about adding Game Boy support to the VC? And Nintendo has mentioned their immense catalogue of classic Nintendo Power magazines just sitting on the shelves. So many possibilities...
