Nintendowiifanboy has a regular feature called "Revolutionary." This week, they imagine the Guitar Hero III controller used to play racing games:
I guess it could be said that my favorite game genres are rhythm and racing. My racing wheels, bongos, dance mats, drum kit, and guitar collection stand as testament to that being fact. So, while brainstorming new uses for my Guitar Hero III Wii Guitar, it struck me that racing might be the peanut butter to the guitar's chocolate.
Yeah, I'm sure that doesn't make any sense to you, as I got the 'WTF face' plenty of times when explaining my plan to friends. But read on and I'll tell you how to shred. How to shred down NFS ProStreet.
Um, I suppose you can add me to your "what the Fred Flintstone
face" list. Very strange. But hey, that's the whole point of the column! Codename Revolution has a report in which Codemasters does the usual "the Wii isn't powerful enough for our game" BS that gets so tired:
With Turning Point: Fall of Liberty coming to the PS3 and 360, Codemasters had the following to say in relation to the Wii:
"If we did a Wii version, it would exploit that opportunity in a way that was most appropriate to the unique aspects that machine offers. Given the sheer processing grunt needed to render a collapsing New York though, and the level of spectacle we wanted for Fall of Liberty, it wasn't really the most appropriate platform for this title."
I get so tired of game developers bringing out this line of bull. You either want to make it for Wii or you do not. Assassin's Creed has a DS version, for instance. Back in the old days, it wasn't uncommon to see a SuperNES AND NES version of the same game. You adapt. I think it is ridiculous that you just *cannot* make a version of Oblivion (to use another example) for Wii... they have a cellphone version of it, for goodness sake!
Finally, Gonintendo graces us with Famitsu review scores(Famitsu is Japan's premiere gaming magazine). Of note are two releases for Wii that will be coming to America: We Love Golf and SEGA's Nights into Dreams. Both games fared well, with We Love Golf getting the best scores. I'm looking forward to a Golf game that really gets it right, so this is definitely a game to look forward to.
