It hasn't been forgotten here at House of Nintendo that No More Heroes is out for Wii this week, marking the first major big time release for Wii this year.
While I have been skeptical, the metascore for this game (currently 87/100) is high enough to warrant interest.
On the high end, you have Ngamer UK (94/100):
Like the Wii, none of it should work, but like the Wii, everything does. Brilliantly... No More Heroes is a love letter to videogames that never grows old, tired, or dull. All games deserve to be designed with such lunacy. [JPN Import; Feb 2008, p.56]
On the low end, you have IGN (this is notable because they hyped the game all 2007, and gave it a 78/100!!):
It's hilarious, completely matchless in its design, and hands-down one of the most passionate projects we've seen for Nintendo's console. On the other hand, it's obvious that open world designs aren't grasshopper
's strong suit, and while you wont be actually fighting or experiencing any "pure action" moments in the world, it's a pain to trek through, and a painfully low-tech visual offering. Pop-in is everywhere, control is irritating at best, and the frame rate is all over the charts. It's an absolute mess. IGN.com's review here.
