Why the PS3 Will Hurt Sony
Yes, we all know that Sony has the console war by the neck. Yes, we all know that Playstation 2 was the most successful video game console of all time. And yes, we know the Playstation 3 is the highest anticipated console ever. In the last few years, consoles have been more powerful, and with that power, more expensive. Sony is looking to launch it's new console sometime in November, with a pricetag ranging from 499 USD to 599 USD. Being a 24 year old gamer, I've owned every system from Atari to the current XBOX 360. Playstation 2 and XBOX both carried roughly the same pricetag and performance wise were on the same level. The same goes for the new PS3 and the new XBOX 360. XBOX 360 launched a good 8 months before PS3 and trimmed the price to undercut PS3. Now with the emergence of the Nintendo Wii console as a popular bet carrying a pricetag of 220 USD, I think we'll see PS3 struggle in the market. This blogger just feels that why buy a PS3 when you can get an XBOX 360 and a Nintendo Wii for the same pricetag. I think a lot of people agree with me on this one.
Summary: This is just an article of why I believe the PS3 will hurt Sony.
