Sometimes a cigar can mean much more, but sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. And that's the case with the Revolution's stand: it's just a stand. There have been rumors of late that the Revolution's stand would double as the console's power source. At first, that seems like a great idea--God knows we don't want another power source bigger than my foot, like the Xbox 360's mammoth power brick.

But did anyone else consider the potential (rather, probable) overheating problems the Revolution would have if it were seated directly atop its power source? Apparently, Nintendo did, and they finally addressed the rumors this week.

"We have not announced or shown any details regarding the power supply for the console. The stand is just a stand, nothing more nothing less." -- Nintendo of Europe made this statement today to SPOnG, when asked outright about the stand rumors. Let this be the end to it.
