Guitar Hero III and Battle of the Bands aren't the only rockers in town, as Harmonix's Rock Band hits store shelves this week for Wii.
What sets this game apart from its competitors is the inclusion of singing, drumming, and bass playing in addition to the virtual guitar strumming.
While I haven't really seen the appeal of playing fake guitar (I play real guitar, or, rather, when I have time I play real guitar!), I DO see the appeal of playing fake drums. Like most musicians, I'm fascinated by the instruments I *don't* actually play as opposed to the ones I do play.
Still, Wii owners must recognize that this isn't the best option if they are multiplatform owners: this version doesn't have downloadable content or online play.
However, it is always nice to see a big multiplatform release make it to Wii.
Will you be rocking out this week?

I'm not way into Guitar Hero/Rock Band, but it *is* really interesting that, while Wii's Rock Band doesn't have downloadable content, supposedly Guitar Hero: World Tour will? Ditto for Samba De Amigo? Does that mean a storage solution for the Wii is right around the corner? It would be pretty sweet if so!
