Rune Factory is the latest in the harvest moon series, transforming the farm-em-up into a fantasy setting, and it looks pretty cool.

While it won't be for everyone, and is the sort of game that actually requires you to read the manual (OMG!) for those that dug the other games in the series, or prefer a slower pace of life in their DS gaming, this is well worth checking out. There's a nice, comprehensive review over at Flamewar Advance, which is worth reading in full. For the lazier among you, it concludes like this:
Farm-and-fantasy. Excellent.

"Overall, Rune Factory is an excellent purchase for fans of the Harvest Moon games. It's portable, it's engrossing, looks great and offers plenty more to do. On the other hand, if you're new to the world of Harvest Moon, or even more "traditional" games on the DS, consider picking this one up just so you can see for yourself the amazing amount variety and fun it has to offer.
While the game is clearly not for everyone, just about anybody who has the patience and is willing to invest the time in it will not be disappointed."
Farm-and-fantasy. Excellent.
