Target Terror = Target Awesome?
Filed in archive Wii by Robert Howard on April 27, 2008

I know all of you are pumped for Mario Kart (so am I!), but another title has hit Wii that has people lining up to take sides. That game is Rawthrills developed and Konami published Target: Terror, the latest light gun game to be converted to the Wii.

So what is the deal with this game? The review scores are low, very low. I think IGN gave it something like 3.5. But the reviewer (Mark Bozon) went on and on about how awesome the game is.

So is this a good game or not?

It seems that Target: Terror is quickly becoming the "evil dead" of the Wii library. Low production values but hilarious bad acting which harkens back to the 1990s era of videogaming. It also has shooting action that, though I have yet to play it, seems crazy fun. It reminds me of Area 51, an all time classic, but with ridiculous enemies in tracksuits and ski masks.

The big problem with Target: Terror is the $40 price point. This is clearly too much for a game like this. In fact, with the game being so low budget, and also being several years old, why is Konami charging $40? What about other games that are put out at $40 when they should be $20?

Time for another blog post....
