The Birth of a Nintendo Blogger

Filed in archive Blogger Introduction by Robert Howard on November 29, 2007

Well, hello there!

I'm the new guy here at House of Nintendo. I'll be guiding you through your daily fix of all things Big N related, from Smash Bros. Brawl news to Miyamoto-San's favorite ice cream flavor.

There are certainly many choices out there when it comes to Nintendo and video game blogs, so I'll work very hard to keep you interested in ours.

First off, I'd like to thank the good people at Creative Weblogging for hiring me. I started a humble little blog a year ago, after becoming hopelessly addicted to blogspot blogging before then. It's been an awesome experience and I continue to learn so much about this exciting creative outlet.

For this first post, I'd like to briefly talk about what I have in mind for The House of Nintendo. My friend Josh detests "after the break" posts..... but that sort of thing is encouraged here, so you'll have to click to read more.

Here are my goals for what I want to do for you guys:

1.
Comment on the important Nintendo news of the day. With emphasis on, well, the commenting part!

2.
Give my honest take on various Nintendo games for both Wii and DS. Sometimes one just gets the
impression that the gaming magazines don't like Nintendo very much (a "4" for Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games from a certain major magazine? WHA!?!?!?). For that reason, I find it valuable to read takes from
people who LIKE what Nintendo is doing (for the most part).

3.
Write hard hitting, interesting, and well thought out opinion pieces related to the world o' Nintendo. What's this bloggers take on.... voice chat? Brawl Characters? Minigames on Wii? Is third party support where it should be?

4.
FUN. Nintendo is all about fun. I think they are a great company because they don't let various agendas get in the way of that quest. So, a Nintendo blog should take a minute and just blog about something silly, ridiculous, or funny in the Nintendo world.

Finally, please please comment- especially if it is to point out errors I have made in posts. You guys will be my best editors, ultimately, and I'm not the sort of blogger who won't apologize if I mess something up.

So what blogs and websites does Rob read? Here's a few:

Gonintendo.com
Nintendowiifanboy.com
Videogamecritic.net (awesome, awesome website!!!!)
