The Boys are Back: Zelda Team At Work Again, but on what?

This has been reported all over the internets, yet it is worth repeating here: Shigeru Miyamoto let slip to 1-Up.com that the Zelda team is back at work... but he doesn't say on what exactly.
Here's hoping that it is either:
1. New action adventure IP, or just new IP,
OR
2. A new Zelda game, that is some radical re-imagining of the franchise.
One of the most interesting things to come from Nintendo is what they are going to do after Mario Kart. As I've said many times now, they have very quickly unloaded all of their bullets: What took almost five years on Gamecube has happened in a year and a half for Wii: every major Nintendo franchise has been represented, save for Star Fox (but Star Fox is second tier). I guess they could do an F-Zero game, but that franchise failed to pull in the sales needed to justify its existence on Gamecube, as that version was, in my opinion, and awesome racer, but was way too hard for the audience that normally plays an F-Zero game.
One can't keep redoing old stuff over and over, though it seems like a new Final Fantasy game gets released every month on some platform or another (I remember when FF games were a huge event in the gaming world: they are now standard fare).
The other huge take-away from that interview is that Miyamoto sees the Zapper as a sort of bridge to introduce the Japanese to the qualities of First Person Shooter games.

It will be an interesting time when info of the new Zelda is released, since Twilight Princess was so widely touted as "the last Zelda as we know it" (or something along those lines). I guess I'm just wondering what the extent of the inevitable backlash will be when the new Zelda concepts get unveiled ;-) Good for Nintendo though for pushing things in a new direction, even with their key franchises! We're on the dawn of Mario Kart Wii being released, and when people talk about it, I sometimes wonder why they just want Mario Kart 64 to be re-released every few years in a new box ;-)
