Nintendo DS

The third in a series of Tony Hawk skate games for the DS attempts to stick closer to its console big brothers, while the first two self consciously avoided the challenge. The results, according to IGN, are looking pretty good.

Improved, more realistic graphics aside, the game has plenty to challenge both the beginner and newcomer to the franchise. IGN write:
Sounds like it might be worth checking out if you're into skating sims.

Improved, more realistic graphics aside, the game has plenty to challenge both the beginner and newcomer to the franchise. IGN write:
"Tony Hawk's Proving Ground is not a cakewalk, and that's a good thing. See, players complete challenges by skating up to a particular individual who will send your character off to complete a specific task - score a huge combo, grind specific rails, pull off moves as they're called out...whatever. The change comes from the three-tier element: each challenge has three different quotas: an Amateur level, a Professional level, and a Sick quota. Amateur quotas are pretty easy to accomplish and completing most of them will enable you to move on through the game's progression - but if you want to snag all the goodies that this game has to offer, you'll need to revisit all the people dishing out challenges to check off the tasks at the other two levels. Some of the Sick challenges deeper in the game can get absolutely insane"
Sounds like it might be worth checking out if you're into skating sims.
