Transformers Autobots And Transformers Decepticons For DS

Filed in archive Nintendo DS by Michael Pick on September 10, 2007

Riding the hype of the currently screening Transformers movie, two new DS titles give you the chance to take the side of the Autobots (good guys) or Decepticons (bad-boys) in something approaching full 3D robo-warefare. So whether you fancy yourself as a defender of the earth and its people, or someone that wants to destroy, destroy, destroy, you can take your pick in these mission based games.

Transformers Autobots And Transformers Decepticons For DS

Looking at the Autobots title today Cubed3 note that:
"Firstly, there is an impressive 3D engine that renders great detail for both Autobots and Deceptions (including your own) as and when you run into them. And secondly, you can interact with almost every in-game item you come across; be it a human vehicle, enemy robot, street lamp or a fully-grown tree. Each of these can be ripped from the ground and tossed through the air, or attacked using either your character's built in projectilelinks weapons or its shiny metal fists!"

The major issue however seems to be robot on robot battling which is rather limited in its scope. There is a little bit of a hint that the games might have been slightly rushed to coincide with the film release, which is a shame. Nevertheless fans of the movie and its franchise, or kids that grew up with the eighties rendition, may well find themselves drawn to this title.

If I had to choose, I would definitely go the Decepticon route myself. Destroy! Destroy!
