Wiimote Mic and VOIP?

Go Nintendo describes a rumor that the wiimote might come with a mic along with the speaker we have already confirmed. Another rumor hints that the Wii is capable of VOIP, meaning users could make phone calls through their Wii internet connection.

While Nintendo does love microphones and usually finds a way for a few games on each of their consoles to utilize audio input devices, Miyamoto has recently denied the existence of a microphone on the wiimote in the latest EGM. As for VOIP: while possible, Nintendo likes to keep their consoles as game machines and only game machines.
