Woman dies in Nintendo Wii competition

A California woman recently passed away while competing in a radio contest to win a Nintendo Wii. KDND 107.9 held a contest called "Hold your Wee for a Wii" where participants were given water at regular intervals and now allowed to go to the bathroom. Whoever went the longest scored the Wii. Tragically, Jennifer Strange consumed too much water too quickly which caused an upset in the delicate homeostatis of her body's electrolyte levels. The resulting water intoxication caused her cells to swell and cease functioning. No comment from the Sacrament-based radio station has been released, and unfortunately many anti-gaming pundits will peg this on Nintendo and video game addiction. Ms. Strange phoned a colleague while she was driving home and complained of an aching head. "She was crying," the colleague said, "and that was the last anyone had heard from her."
