Worms Open Warfare 2 Goes Back To Basics
Filed in archive Nintendo DS by Michael Pick on September 12, 2007
The popular Worms franchise, which has been around since way back in the 90s, never quite made the jump to next generation consoles. There was something simple and great about the game in its 2D incarnations that never quite translated to more graphics-intensive environments. That's perhaps why the latest DS Worms offering is so damned good - it strips the franchise down to its core, and throws in some cool new features along for the ride.

In Sammy Barker's NintendoLife review the game scores an impressive 9/10, and Barker notes that:
"It's hard to pick flaws with Worms: Open Warfare 2 it really is. People that aren't fans of turn-based games will find this game far too slow paced and uninteresting - but for anyone who ever enjoyed Worms back in the late 90's or anyone who likes good games, this is a breath of fresh air."
If you never encountered Worms in its earlier incarnations - the original being the best IMHO - this would be a great place to get stuck into its turn-based, addictive cartoon battle mayhem. With level and worm editors along with great multi-player fun, this looks like a great DS title.

Well worth checking out.
